A Beautiful Day

I was so excited this morning to walk outside and feel the cool wind blowing. My precious Hannah said she was cold so I went back in the house and got her a sweater! Yes, I said sweater, YAY! I am so happy that it is starting to feel a little more like fall everyday! It is truly my favorite time of year! I love sitting on my pourch drinking coffee in a long sleeve t-shirt and shorts. All year long, I have been looking forward to the halloween carnival at church, our family Gatlinburg trip, Thanksgiving, and then Christmas. I enjoy everything fall has to offer. To me, it is the most beautiful time of year!

Wonderful Weekend

This weekend was so great! Saturday, we met Field, Nicole, Rylan, Zach, and Olivia at Field and Nicole's house. We all had lunch together and then headed to George's house! We rode horses and grilled out. George made potato salad MMMMM. Then we watched the football game, ROLL TIDE!! Kensley went with us and spent the night with us. She was such a little angel. Sunday, I took all three kids to my mom and they went to church. Todd and I got ready and went to Alabama Adventure with Field and Nicole. We had a wonderful time! Monday, we went to my mom and dad's house and had lunch with them. It was nice. We haven't spent much time with them lately, but we are about to start spending more time with them. Monday night, Field, Nicole, and Rylan came over for dinner, movie, and games. It was a very good weekend!

Exciting News

I am so excited to tell everyone that Todd found a job! This job will be so good for us. He will be making more money than he has ever made before and I think he will actually enjoy what he will be doing. God is so amazing. We were just about to give up when He brought us through yet again. Hopefully within the next few months there will be several positive changes in our lives. We pray that we will be able to put our house up for sale in about a month or two and I will be applying for nursing school in May. If all goes well and I am accepted, I should start nursing school next fall!! It is about time LOL. There are a few other awesome changes that we are looking forward to, but I will let you know more about those in a later post. I don't want to get too ahead of myself (which I tend to do pretty often) :) I guess that is all for now. If you would like, check back for more to come on all the wonderful things God is doing for our family!!

First Grade!!

Today, my sweet baby girl started the first grade. I just can't believe how grown up she is. She picked out her entire outfit for today. She got dressed and I painted her fingernails pink and put a pretty little headband in her hair. She was so excited about starting back to school. She couldn't wait to get there and meet her new teacher and make new friends. When we got to the school, she got out of the car, threw her bookbag over her shoulder, and walked in the school like she knew exactly what to do. It made me want to cry. Tomorrow, Caleb will be starting K4!!! Can you believe it? I can't!! He is excited about starting his new class as well. He is ready to go on field trips LOL. They grow up so fast. I wish I could keep them little forever. No matter how big they get, they will always be my precious little babies!

Another Monday

Well, here we go again with another week of work...LOL. Mondays come way too fast. Even though the weekend wasn't long enough, it was still a great one. Todd has been working a second job on the weekends for about nine months now. He has only been off about three times since he started. This was his first weekend off after quitting that job. It is so nice to have him home on the weekends again. The kids and I always miss him so much when he is working. We spent Saturday just hanging around the house. Sunday, we got up and went to church, then to walmart, and back home. I wasn't ready for it to end!! Now I am just looking forward to spending quality time with them again next weekend. That's all for now. I hope you all have a wonderful week!!

One of Those Weeks

Have you ever had a week where you just feel like giving up? When it just seems like nothing is going right. Well, this has been one of those weeks. Sunday, two of our dogs died; Monday, Todd was laid off along with all the other workers at his job; Tuesday, my car broke down. Today, however, has been going well so far...LOL. Last night I felt so defeated. So, I turned my radio to WDJC and just started singing while I was getting dinner ready. I decided that I am not going to let it get me down. I started thinking about what Priscilla said at the Deeper Still conference. God brings us to the wilderness, because when you are flat on your back then there is nowhere else to look but straight up. So, I am doing just that. I have such a wonderful family and my life is so blessed.

I think about how God carries me though hard times. How he is such a merciful God. It just makes me wonder how lost people make it through struggles. Who do they turn too? I can't imagine going one day without God holding my hand. I know the rest of this week is going to be great, because I won't let it be anything else!! :)

Beach Bums

We just got back from the beach and we had a wonderful time. We went with my mom, dad, sister, brother, and niece. Then Todd's brother came down. We had such a great time just being around each other in a care free place. It is nice to get away once in a while. And what better place to do that than the beach. I love to lay out on my towel and just listen to the sound of my children playing in the sand and the ocean splashing on the shore. I love it! However, we did spend most of our time at the pool, because there were so many jelly fish in the ocean. On our last night there, we went to dinner at Doc seafood shack and it was so good. Then we were off to waterville for go carts, roller coaster, and arcade games. Caleb hit the jackpot on one game and won 420 tickets. They were both so excited to pick out their prizes with all of their tickets. The drive home was not so great. It took us nine and a half hours to get home from Gulf Shores!!! The traffic was terrible. But we all made it home safely. We really did have a great time!
